Wireless sensor networks and applications of ZigBee protocol

With the gradual maturity of network technology and the arrival of the wireless sensor era, wireless sensor network technology has become a technology hotspot in recent years. Embedding a standardized network protocol in network equipment can improve the interconnection between networks, improve the flow between networks, and enhance the efficiency of resource sharing. Based on the characteristics of wireless sensor networks, this article focuses on analyzing the structural characteristics of the ZigBee protocol and the prospective application methods of the ZigBee wireless sensor protocol.

As an expansion of the Internet in form, its main developing technologies are: sensors, embedded automation technology, RFID and nanotechnology. As a key technology in the Internet of Things – wireless sensor network, research on it has gradually become a hot spot in the current computer field. It is not only used in production and life, but also in medical and military applications. broad. However, with the rapid development of computer technology, various wireless sensor networks are currently springing up, which is not conductive to the interconnection of network nodes between various networks and the management between networks. The emergence of the ZigBee protocol standardizes direct network node interconnection and management between networks, effectively solving problems existing in network expansion.

1 Introduction to Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wireless network composed of a large number of stationary or moving sensors in a self-organized and multi-hop manner to cooperatively sense, collect, process and transmit the network covering a geographical area or area. information about the sensed object, and ultimately sends this information to the owner of the network. 2Zigbee protocol overview

The Zigbee protocol is a network security protocol extended on the basis of wireless networks. Zigbee is an emerging wireless network technology that has the characteristics of low complexity, short distance, low power consumption, low cost, and low data rate. Not only can it be applied to various automatic controls and remote controls, it can also be embedded in different devices, which strengthens network applications. 2.1 Introduction to Zigbee protocol stack

A complete Zi gbee protocol is composed of five layers: physical layer, data link layer, network layer, application convergence layer and application layer from bottom to top. The application layer is the highest-level user facing various unused application services; the main job of the application convergence layer is to feed back unused application requirements to the Zi gbee network layer; the network layer is mainly the functional layer that performs MAC, Topology, security, etc. management; the data link layer is divided into LLC and MAC, and the transmitted data is analyzed and established logically one by one to ensure the normal operation of data management.

3Applications of Zigbee technology

The development of Zigbee technology should be promoted based on the existing problems in current network technology to make up for the shortcomings of other wireless network technologies such as short distance, less data transmission, and low transmission rate, and achieve low cost, large capacity, low power consumption, and intelligence. Strengthen the characteristics to improve the blank function in the sensor field. The development of Zigbee technology is a relatively complex technical project, which involves not only transmission and radio frequency technologies in the network field, but also underlying software and hardware control technologies. When developing wireless sensor networks using Zigbee technology, the network nodes and corresponding functional software are mainly considered. At present, with the efforts of scientific researchers, Zigbee technology has been applied to radio frequency chips and other hardware. These high -tech hardware facilities have reduced the cost of development.
