Analyse der Hauptunterschiede zwischen GPRS DTU und GPRS MODEM_Wie man sich zwischen den beiden entscheidet

From a certain perspective, GPRS DTU can be seen as a combination of embedded PC and GPRS MODEM. It can not only be used as a modem alone, but it can also complete the functions of data protocol conversion and transparent transmission. So what is the difference between GPRS DTU and GPRS MODEM?

GPRS DTU and GPRS Modem are different.

In terms of software design, GPRS DTU encapsulates the protocol stack content and has an embedded operating system. In terms of hardware, it can be regarded as the combination of an embedded PC and a wireless access part.

GPRS/CDMA Modem is a physical channel that accesses the GPRS/CDMA packet network. It does not have an operating system itself and must be attached to a computer (similar in function to a wired Modem). PPP dial-up connections can only be made on top of the computer operating system. Usually used in conjunction with a PC.

In terms of use, front-end collection equipment or intelligent data equipment usually provides standard data interfaces, such as RS232, RS485, etc. These front-end user equipment are suitable for using GPRS DTU to achieve data communication with the monitoring center with the help of the operator’s GPRS network.

GPRS MODEM needs to be connected to a computer to realize network connection. For example, the PC host of the central station can be connected to the GPRS network through GPRS MODEM to form a central station server to achieve network monitoring, data communication, etc.

If long-term reliable data transmission is required, GPRS DTU should be used to realize data communication with the monitoring center through the GPRS network platform.

Even if the site is a computer, a dial-up network can be set up, but if automatic transmission is required when there is no one on site, it is recommended to use GPRS DTU, because the dial-up network of ordinary computer operating systems (such as Windows) is mainly for ordinary users’ Internet access services ( Such as browsing the web, sending and receiving emails, etc.), rather than designing for reliable data sending and receiving applications.

For example, when it comes to handling disconnection and redialing, the Windows operating system will at most prompt that the network is disconnected without automatically redialing. For unattended application fields, automatic redialing should be the most basic requirement, and professional The GPRS DTU handles these aspects very well.

Therefore, in fields that require long-term reliable transmission of data, GPRS DTU should be used. If it is only used for wireless Internet access, you can choose GPRS MODEM.
