DTU

DTU is the abbreviation of Data Terminal Unit. Broadly speaking, when communicating, both ends of the link that transmits data. The module units responsible for sending data information are called DTU. Under its function, the format conversion and data collation and verification of the transmitted information are performed. In a narrow sense, DTU generally refers to the lower GPRS/CDMA/4G-LTE transmitting terminal equipment in wireless communications. The former is a module, while the latter is a device. It is a trend for 4G series DTU to become mainstream, because operators are focusing on operating 5G. The operating cost of 5G is high, and 4G is currently the most used, so 2G is destined to be eliminated.

The price is only 100~200 yuan per unit, and it provides 1-way RS485 interface. ZHC4012 is the original 4g dtu, which provides 1 channel RS232 and 1 channel RS485. The price will be more expensive. If you need an RS232 interface, you can consider this product. If you don’t strictly need an RS232 interface, it is recommended to buy the previous two models.
