Explanation of Internet of Things data transmission equipment

In view of the necessity of converting serial port data into network data during Internet of Things communication, a design method of data transmission unit is proposed. The serial data interface is the commonly used RS-232 and RS-485 interface, and the network data interface is the RJ45 network port and 3G network interface. In order to facilitate DTU expansion, external expansion interfaces such as USB and phone calls are also reserved. The entire DTU system runs China Telecom’s M2M protocol to ensure that the DTU can report its own operation status to the M2M platform when it is working. After testing, the entire set of DTU operates stably, has self-healing function, and has an extremely low failure rate.

In IoT applications, network communication is essential. Any local data that is stored locally without access to the Internet for data processing and analysis will lose its meaning. However, most DTU (DataTransferUnit, data transmission unit) do not have 3G communication function and can only transmit data through the RJ45 network port. In addition, few consider reserving USB interfaces to complete expansion under specific needs, such as U disk storage functions, WiFi wireless network cards, and video interfaces. Therefore, today when 3G networks and Ethernet are very common, it is of great significance to study new DTUs.
