Compared with companies that have not yet accelerated IoT applications, 47% of companies that have accelerated IoT applications said that the COVID-19 epidemic is less likely to have a negative impact on their operational capabilities, reflecting the connection between IoT applications and maintaining business operations during the epidemic. In addition, more than half (52%) of respondents believe that the business and operational challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have highlighted the importance of IoT.

The rapid growth in IoT deployments over the past few years shows that industries around the world have made significant progress in solving some daunting global challenges. What is unexpected but reasonable is that the COVID-19 epidemic has further catalyzed enterprises’ demand for the application of Industry 4.0 technologies, especially the Industrial Internet of Things, to achieve continued business operations.
