ARM releases new CPU core mainly for PC

For example, Intel has developed mobile SoCs and mobile baseband chips, but they have not been successful. ARM has cooperated with partners to launch PC-based chips, but there has been little improvement.

But things are improving now, because Apple wants to use ARM chips to replace Intel chips, and it is estimated that such chips will be released for use soon. Considering that Apple has its own system and chips, it is completely possible to do this, so ARM also ushered in unprecedented opportunities with Apple.

ARM releases new CPU

In order to seize this opportunity, ARM has recently made a new move, which is the release of a new CPU architecture A78C, which is adapted from the A78 released this year.

A78 is mainly used for mobile devices such as mobile phones. The typical combination structure is 2 2 4, preferably 2 A78 cores. In the most likely case, A78 can only be stacked with 4. In this way, functions and power consumption are taken into consideration. After all, mobile devices The battery is a big problem.

But for PCs, the problem of battery is not so big, and the demand for performance is even greater, so the combination method of A78C is different. You can directly stack 8 A78Cs to maximize the performance. At the same time, the third-level cache has also been increased to a terrifying 8MB.

Obviously, the release of the A78C is to enable ARM architecture chips to be used in PCs such as notebooks, to improve performance by stacking 8 large cores, and to obtain computing capabilities that are no weaker than X86 architecture chips.

Not only that, ARM also released the A78AE, which is an optimized architecture for autonomous driving to meet the growing demand for autonomous driving chips at that time.

So it is obvious that ARM is really going to be more competitive with Intel. It is no longer willing to only make chips for mobile terminals. I wonder how Intel will respond next?

At the same time, it can be expected that more and more computers using ARM chips will be on the market in the future, and it will no longer be the world of X86. This is also a good thing for consumers.
