RS-422

RS-422 (EIARS-422-AStandard) is the serial port connection standard for Apple’s Mac in osh computers.

RS-422 is developed from RS-232 and is proposed to make up for the shortcomings of RS-232. RS 422 is a one-way, balanced transmission method for single-machine transmission and multi-machine reception. It is named TIA/ EIA-422-A standard.

Length: 4000 feet,

Speed: 10M

Nodes: 2, 10 (broadcast)

Cable type:

4-wire or 8-wire (with flow control signal) GND

RS-422 is a series of data transmission protocols that specifies 4-wire, full-duplex, differential transmission, and multipoint communication. It uses balanced transmission using unidirectional/non-reversible transmission lines with or without enable ends. Unlike RS-485, EIA-422 does not allow multiple senders but only multiple receivers. In terms of hardware configuration, EIA-422 (RS-422) is equivalent to two sets of EIA-485 (RS-485), that is, two half-duplex EIA -485 (RS-485) constitute a full-duplex EIA-422 (RS-485). -422).

What is the difference between RS485 and RS422?

In use, 485 is half-duplex, 2 lines; 422 is full-duplex, 4 lines.

Most conversion modules and instruments support both methods, and most 422 only use half-duplex. The SDA and RDA of 422 are connected together and connected to A of 485; the SDB and RDB of 422 are connected together and connected to B of 485, so that 422 can be used as 485 half-duplex 2-wire.
