To solve chip problems, Huawei starts construction of new R&D base

As an outstanding representative of my country’s domestic technology companies, Huawei has gone global and introduced Huawei products to the market. Now Huawei has taken the initiative in the field of 5G technology development and won 5G orders from many countries around the world.

From this point of view, Huawei’s future development potential is naturally immeasurable, but Huawei’s leap forward has also aroused the fear of the United States. For this reason, it has suppressed many Huawei companies starting from chips, leaving Huawei unable to respond.

So will Huawei end up like ZTE? Will it decline and lose its automatic advantage in the international market? The answer is naturally no. We can really see that although Huawei was still worried about the supply of chips at that time, the overall development of the enterprise was promoted in an orderly manner, and Huawei never stopped planning for the future development of the enterprise.

Huawei's new R&D base starts construction

For example, Huawei has started construction on a new R&D base. Its scale is larger than the Songshan Lake base. The main purpose of this base is to solve Huawei’s chip dilemma. So, is such a large-scale base just to solve the chip problem? ?

This new R&D base is Huawei Qingpu R&D Center. It is located in Qingpu District, Shanghai, a prosperous city in my country. The entire R&D base covers an area of 2,400 acres, even larger than the Songshan Lake base previously established by Huawei. There is a distance of about 500 acres in area, making the Qingpu R&D Center the largest R&D base of Huawei.

Huawei attaches great importance to the production of this research and development base, and has carefully considered everything from selection to investment. In order to better ensure the production quality of this research and development base, Huawei has invested 10 billion in it.

Some experts have analyzed that Huawei is not just building a chip development base, but will use the Qingpu R&D Center as an innovation base for Huawei, where more key technologies will be born in the future.

According to a previous interview with Huawei manager Ren Zhengfei, Huawei established this research and development base in Shanghai mainly because of Shanghai’s local talent resource reserves.

At that time, Huawei had reached cooperation agreements with several universities in and around Shanghai, which would assist Huawei in its innovative development in integrated circuits, Internet of Things, Internet of Vehicles, smart city construction, software development, information services, etc. It seems that chips are just one of the goals for the construction of this base.
